Yu-Ling He was born in July 1984 in Long-Yan City, Fujian Province, China. His academic journey began with a solid foundation in mechanical and electrical engineering. He obtained his Bachelor’s degrees in both Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from North China Electric Power University (NCEPU) in Baoding, China, in 2007. Recognized for his academic excellence, he was granted early graduation and national exemption from admission examinations, allowing him to pursue a Master of Engineering in Mechatronics Engineering at NCEPU. He completed his master’s degree in 2009 and went on to achieve a Ph.D. in Power Machinery and Engineering from NCEPU in Beijing in 2012. His doctoral thesis was awarded the title of excellent doctoral thesis of the university in 2012.

After completing his Ph.D., Yu-Ling He embarked on a professional career at NCEPU, where he served as a Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering from 2012 to 2016. His dedication and contributions led to his promotion to Associate Professor in 2016, a position he held until the end of 2021. During this period, he also spent a year (2018-2019) as an academic visitor at the University of Nottingham in the UK, where he further honed his expertise in electrical and electronics engineering.
