His thesis, titled “Sewage Treatment by Anaerobic Hybrid Reactor,” under the guidance of Dr. I.H. Farooqui and Dr. A.A. Siddiqui, further honed his expertise in wastewater treatment technologies. Driven by a passion for environmental sustainability, Dr. Khan pursued a PhD in Civil (Environmental Engineering) at the prestigious IIT Roorkee. His doctoral research, supervised by Prof. A.A. Kazmi, Prof. Indu Mehrotra, and Dr. Beni Lew, focused on the post-treatment of UASB effluent, emphasizing aeration and variants of the activated sludge process.
