Mr. Gerald DS Quoie Jr | Electrochemical | Best Innovation Award

Gerald DS Quoie Jr | University of California, Davis | United States

Gerald D. S. Quoie Jr. is a dedicated environmental researcher and graduate student currently pursuing an M.S. in Environmental Policy and Management at the University of California, Davis, building on a strong academic foundation that includes an M.S. in Environmental Science from Tongji University in China and a B.Eng. in Environmental Engineering from Tianjin University. His research contributions span electrocatalytic nitrate-to-ammonia reduction, wastewater-based epidemiology for public health surveillance, and machine learning applications in heavy metal remediation. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters, focusing on catalyst development, water treatment technologies, and environmental monitoring. Gerald has conducted laboratory research on electrochemical reduction processes, supported predictive modeling for wastewater-based COVID-19 detection, and presented findings at academic conferences. His experience includes research roles at Tongji University and Tianjin University, complemented by teaching positions in Environmental Chemistry and English language instruction. He has also contributed to international collaboration as a Language Assistant at Shanghai Sustainable Environment Company, facilitating technical communication among global partners. Gerald is proficient in electrochemical analysis, data modeling, and water quality testing, with technical fluency in tools such as Origin, SPSS, and RStudio. His academic excellence has been recognized through multiple scholarships, including awards from the Shanghai and Tianjin governments, as well as honors in national innovation competitions. Beyond academia, he has participated in international conferences in Asia and remains committed to advancing sustainable water management and environmental policy solutions on a global scale.
