Professor | Jerzy Kukuczka Academy of Physical Education | Poland

Prof. Dr. Janusz Wiesław Błaszczyk is a professor of neurophysiology and biomechanics whose research focuses on neuromechanics, motor control, postural stability, gait analysis, aging, and neurodegenerative disorders, particularly Parkinson’s disease. He is internationally recognized for developing modern methods of posturography and spatiotemporal gait assessment, as well as for introducing acoustic startle reflex research in Poland. His work integrates neurophysiology, clinical biomechanics, biomedical engineering, and computational modeling, with applications in diagnostics and neurorehabilitation. He has authored influential monographs and over 100 peer-reviewed publications. According to Google Scholar, his work has received over 4,700 citations (h-index 33), and in Scopus over 2,200 citations across 70 documents (h-index 24).
