Prof. Dr. Yuriy Sirenko | Cardiology | Editorial Board Member

Prof. Dr. Yuriy Sirenko is a leading figure in contemporary cardiology, recognized for his extensive contributions to arterial hypertension, pulmonary hypertension, and cardiovascular hemodynamics. As Head of the Department of Arterial Hypertensions at the National Scientific Center “M.D. Strazhesko Institute of Cardiology, Clinical and Regenerative Medicine,” he has shaped national and international approaches to hypertension research and treatment for more than three decades. His career encompasses major clinical, research, and administrative roles, including leadership of the Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Center and serving as Chief Cardiologist and Senior Adviser to the Ukrainian Ministry of Public Health, where he played a central role in advancing large-scale hypertension prevention and treatment programs. Prof. Sirenko has been deeply engaged in global scientific collaboration through active involvement in the European Society of Cardiology, European Society of Hypertension, International Society of Hypertension, International Society of Vascular Health, American Society of Hypertension, and American Heart Association. He has contributed to several landmark ESC/ESH and ESC/ERS guidelines, which significantly influence cardiovascular clinical practice worldwide. As Editor-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Journal of Arterial Hypertension and a member of multiple editorial boards, he supports the dissemination of high-impact cardiovascular research. With more than 600 publications indexed in major scientific databases, his work spans primary and secondary hypertension, pulmonary vascular disease, heart failure, right heart catheterization, hemodynamic profiling, and both pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapeutic strategies. His scientific leadership has been recognized through national awards, including the State Prize in Science and Technology and the title Honored Medical Doctor of Ukraine, underscoring his lasting impact on cardiovascular medicine.
