Dr. P. Prabhu is a distinguished academic and researcher in the field of Mechanical Engineering with over seventeen years of teaching and research experience, complemented by industrial exposure at Tamil Nadu Machine Tools. He holds dual Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Bharath University (2012) and Annamalai University (2024), specializing in composite materials and advanced manufacturing processes. His doctoral research focused on the processing, optimization, and characterization of hybrid nanoclay-glass fiber and natural-glass fiber reinforced resin nanocomposites, contributing valuable insights into sustainable material engineering. Dr. Prabhu has served in various academic capacities, including Associate Professor and Head of Department at leading engineering institutions such as Sriram Engineering College, Madha Institute of Engineering and Technology, and currently at KIT – Kalaignarkarunanidhi Institute of Technology, Coimbatore. His research has produced numerous publications in SCI, Scopus, and Web of Science-indexed journals, with recent works in Bioresource Technology Reports, Biomass Conversion and Biorefinery, and Silicon. His innovative studies on hybrid composites, green compatibilizers, and energy-generating biopolymers have advanced the understanding of environmentally friendly materials and tribological performance. He has co-authored a recent book chapter on “Biopolymer-Based Composites for Energy Generation and Storage” published by Elsevier. Recognized for his academic excellence, Dr. Prabhu received the SIMATS Global Iconic Excellence Award for Best Professor in 2022. A member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), he continues to mentor doctoral scholars and pursue interdisciplinary research bridging materials science, nanotechnology, and mechanical engineering applications.
